Yes we are still locked out! It has been 178 weeks and the company still does not believe that the Union Board and its Members wants a fair contract. With only two proposal in 41 months, it shows how much they care about their valuable assets  (their employees).
The Union Board would like to state the following:

1. Notified the company three days prior to the rally, time and date and the intent of the rally.

2. The Union Board and the Union members were very disappointed that a company representative could not be present (only their NEWLY hired security representative was present).

3. The Union Board is still willing and ready to work twenty four seven to resolve this situation "Lock Out".

4.The plant runs 24 hours a day 7 day's a week.

5. If the companies true desire was to resolve this "Lock Out", why wouldn't the negotiating board be working longer hours than Monday through Friday, especially since the union sent a letter explaining the intent of the work rally.

6. Janet Sichterman, GPC Spokeswoman, has continually said the contract has to be:

A. Good for the company: mandatory 12 hour days; company takes away .70 cents shift premium; first year raise only .60 cents, which leaves the employee short .10 cents an hour for every hour worked.

B. Good for the Customers:How can a food grade plant with NO sick leave be good for it's customers? Does this raise a liability issue with the H1N1 epidemic.

C. Good for their employees: Locked Out for 41 months; they canceled health insurance.
